TRI-AD Values Communication

Building Strong Relationships

TRI-AD understands that effective and open communication is essential to maintaining strong relationships within an organization as noted in a recent article in corpmagazine.com. Our leadership works hard to leverage technology to promote and encourage clear and open communications throughout the company. Named one of San Diego’s Best & Brightest Companies to work for in 2018 and 2019, TRI-AD commits to excellence in human resource practices and employee enrichment.

TRI-AD holds a monthly town hall meeting to communicate regular updates as well as long-term messages about core values and company vision. Our CEO, Thad Hamilton shares news about the company and talks about big-picture ideas. The headquarters in Escondido, CA hosts the event which is simulcasted to our AZ office and all remote Associates.

This “state of the business” meeting takes 30 to 45 minutes to complete, according to Jacquie Hughes, Director of Human Resources for TRI-AD. TRI-AD’s CEO and other managers highlight any new business, upcoming trainings, new events, updates on Associates, in addition to announcing anniversaries and big wins. Those who are working on special initiatives, volunteer projects, and community activities are given an opportunity to share with all on a company-wide scale.

How important is it to give your employees a voice?

TRI-AD leadership understands that giving Associates a voice is a vital element in establishing and maintaining a workforce that is productive, engaged, and happier. It is key to not only employee retention and engagement, but it also could affect the bottom line. According to author David Grossman, a survey of 400 companies with 100,000 employees each cited an average loss per company of $62.4 million per year because of inadequate communication to and between employees.

A once-a-year retreat is held in both San Diego and Phoenix to review and highlight the company’s vision and values. All Associates attend one of these meetings. Hughes is part of the four-person committee that organizes this event which is one of the most fulfilling events of the year, she said. During this symposium, the CEO and company directors discuss TRI-AD’s key initiatives, program changes, and finances. Department heads also review their team’s accomplishments and lay out a framework for future plans.

TRI-AD’s employee engagement level is high. The open lines of communication foster a culture of respect and help us succeed in our mission to make it fast, simple and easy for people to manage their employer-provided benefits. Interested in working at TRI-AD?
