HSA Limits for 2026

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has announced the 2026 HSA limits.

  • The annual contribution limit for individuals with self-only coverage increased from $4,300 to $4,400.
  • The annual contribution limit for family coverage increased from $8,550 to $8,750.
  • The High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) minimum deductibles increased from $1,650 to $1,700 for self-only coverage and from $3,300 to $3,400 for family coverage.
  • Out-of-pocket maximums increased from $8,300 to $8,500 for self-only coverage and from $16,600 to $17,000 for family coverage.
  • The limit for an excepted benefit HRA is increasing from $2,150 to $2,200 in 2026.

The above limits are effective for HSAs for calendar year 2026 and for excepted HRAs for plan years beginning in 2026.
